Church History

This congregation was the vision of the leadership of the Fifth Ward congregation.  In 2003, Bro. Thomas Foster, the minister at Fifth Ward, came with three brothers, Glen Cebrun, Barry Gibson and Ben Wilson, to begin the work in Missouri City.  We began meeting in the evenings in August 2003 at an existing church building.  That building was purchased and we began regular morning and evening worship in September of 2003.

Bro. Foster ministered at both congregations for several years before retiring from Fifth Ward and becoming the full time minister at Missouri City.  Bro. Amram Joiner was hired as the Associate Minister upon graduation from Southwestern Christian College in June of 2004.  Bro. Foster retired from Missouri City in October of 2010 after installing Bro. Amram as Pulpit Minister. Bro Joiner served diligently until February of 2018.  Two Elders, Al Collins & Terry Watson and three Deacons were also ordained in October 2010.    Deacon, Victor Scott Sr. was installed as an Elder in 2015.  Currently three Elders shepherd the flock with four Deacons.  In August of 2018, Bro. Micheal Williams II was installed as the new Minister.

Currently we have about 200 members and we pray that God continues to bless us with membership growth in order to carry on the work and fulfill the great commission!
